Computer Fundamentals

Computer is an advanced electronic device that takes raw data as input from the user and processes these data under the control of set of instructions (called program) and gives the result (output) and saves output for the future use.

    You may already know that you can use a computer to type documents, send email, play games, and browse the Web. You can also use it to edit or create spreadsheets, presentations, and even videos.

Functionalities of a computer  
 Any computer carries out five functions:

• Takes data as input.
• Store the data or instructions in its memory and can use them.
• Processes the data and converts its into useful information.
• Outputs the processed information.
• Controls all the above four steps.
